Events which are hosted by The Immigration Alliance are posted here. Additionally, events related to immigrant ministry and immigration legal counseling that are hosted by other organizations are also posted here. Many of the events posted here have “40-hr” in their title. These events are trainings or courses that will help to provide the necessary training component for individuals who wish to apply for accreditation from the Department of Justice (DOJ – formerly known as BIA recognition and accreditation).

Comprehensive Overview of Immigration Law: A Course for New Practitioners

This intensive six-week e-learning course provides immigration law advocates and new practitioners with an overview of core immigration law concepts and the practice skills necessary to be an effective advocate. This course is a great way to quickly learn the fundamentals of immigration law necessary to be an effective practitioner and establish the training background to support an application for DOJ accreditation.

Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) offers several trainings on an array of issues and skills necessary to operate an immigration program. Additionally, they offer an “40-hr” training online that is spread out over six weeks.
